PREMIER VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

2021 - 2022 SERIES

Created motion design templates for broadcast and visual storytelling elements for the 2021-2022 Premiere Volleyball League, which marked its return after the height of the pandemic. Featured are broadcast templates, motion graphics, in-game visuals, and digital content designed to engage audiences across various platforms.

Overview: This broadcast package project details the development of a comprehensive visual identity for the 2021-2022 PVL series, created during the height of the post-pandemic period. The objective was to reignite fan engagement and create a dynamic and engaging brand experience across all platforms, from broadcast television to social media, capturing the energy and excitement of the sport as live events returned.

Challenge: The PVL required a cohesive brand identity adaptable to three distinct series per year. This demanded both consistent brand recognition and the ability to introduce fresh visuals each season to maintain audience excitement after a period of limited live sports.

Solution: A comprehensive design package was developed using a suite of interconnected industry-standard tools:

  • Motion Graphics & Animation: Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D were used to create dynamic transitions, title sequences, animated logos, and 3D elements, adding visual depth and polish to broadcast and digital content.

  • Branding & Design: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop were employed for logo design, branding development, image retouching, and creating graphic elements for both static and animated designs.

  • Video Editing & Integration: Adobe Premiere Pro was used for video editing, seamlessly integrating motion graphics and other visual elements into final broadcast and digital content.

  • Digital Prototyping: Figma and Adobe InDesign was used for UI/UX deck design and slides for digital platforms, ensuring a consistent user experience.

Key Deliverables:

  • Brand Identity: A core logo and comprehensive brand guidelines established a consistent visual language.

  • Broadcast Enhancements: Dynamic transitions, team/event/segment titles, and animated logos enriched the visual storytelling of live broadcasts.

  • Interactive Graphics: Real-time scoring systems and other on-screen graphics enhanced viewer engagement during matches.

  • Promotional Materials: A range of marketing collateral, including posters, social media templates, and digital content, promoted the league and engaged audiences across multiple platforms.

Collaboration & Execution: Close collaboration with producers and directors ensured seamless integration of visual elements with the league's creative vision and the dynamic nature of the game.

Results: The new design package successfully revitalized the PVL brand, providing a consistent and engaging experience across all platforms. The dynamic motion graphics, 3D elements, and cohesive visual identity elevated broadcast quality and strengthened brand recognition. Tailored assets for each series provided a fresh experience for fans each season while maintaining overall brand consistency. This project demonstrates the impact of strategic design and collaboration in enhancing a sports league's brand and viewer engagement, particularly during a crucial period of recovery for live sports.
